The Soaring Sooners are located in the great plains of western Oklahoma. At 1,583' above sea level, training occurs year round. Soaring flights can reach up to cloud bases of 5000' AGL to 12000' AGL. Long flights of 500k plus are easily accomplished during the summer soaring season.

The club is located at Hinton Municipal Airport (2O8), 2.5 miles north of Hinton, OK or about 2 miles south of I-40 at the US Highway 281 exit. Hinton is about 50 miles west of Oklahoma City on I-40.
